Governor Fastener Group

Usage:

Remove And Install Governor Fastener Group

1. Disconnect wiring harness (3). Disconnect rod assembly (2) and lever (1) as a unit.

2. Remove the bolt and clip (4). Remove cover (5).

3. Remove the bolts and bracket (6).

4. If necessary, remove bearings (8).

5. Remove lever assembly (7) from cover (5).

6. If necessary, use a press to remove the pin from lever assembly (7).

7. Remove seal (9).

8. Remove the two bolts and remove fuel stop lever (10).

NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the governor fastener group.

9. Put fuel stop lever (10) in position and install the bolts to hold it to the fuel control linkage.

10. Use tooling (A) and install seal (9) in cover (5). Make sure the lip of the seal is toward the inside of the cover. Put clean engine oil on the lip of the seal.

11. If the pin was removed from lever assembly (7), use a press to install the pin until it is 18 ± 1 mm (0.71 ± .04 in) above the surface of the lever assembly.

12. If necessary, use tooling (A) and install the bearings (8). Install the top bearing to a depth of 0.5 ± 0.5 mm (.02 ± .02 in) below the surface of the bracket. Install the other bearing to a depth of 4.0 ± 0.5 mm (.157 ± .02 in) below the surface of the bracket. Check the inside diameter of the bearings after installation. This dimension is 19.126 ± 0.038 mm (.7530 ± .0015 in).

13. Put bracket (6) and lever assembly (7) in position. Install the bolts to hold the bracket and lever in position.

14. Put cover (5) in position on the front drive housing. Make sure the pin in the lever assembly is correctly engaged with the opening (slot) in the fuel stop lever. Install the bolts to hold cover (5) to the front drive housing.

15. Install clip (4) and the bolt on cover (5).

16. Connect lever (1) and rod assembly (2).
