Operator Setup

Usage:

The "Operator Editor" window is an interface that allows the user to edit the operator list and classify the operators.

The following list contains the actions that can be performed from the "Operator Editor" window. The "Operator Editor" window is shown in Illustration 1.

  • Add a new operator category.

  • Add a new operator to the list.

  • Modify the information of the selected operator or operator category.

  • Delete the selected operator or operator category. An operator category can not be deleted if it contains operators.

  • Restore the deleted operator or operator category.

  • Create a configuration file containing classified operators and the operator categories.

  • Cancel all the changes since the last save.

  • Save the changes to the databases.

  • Exit the "Operator Editor" screen.

Operator

Add

Perform the following steps in order to add an Operator.

  1. Click the "New Operator" button in the "Operator Editor" window.

    The "Add Operator" dialog will appear.

  1. Enter the Operators name in the "Name:" field of the "Add Operator" dialog.

  1. Select a category for the new Operator.

    Note: An optional code field and an optional password field are available for security. If the added security is not necessary, then the code field and the password field may be left blank.

  1. Select the "OK" button in order to add the new operator, or select the "Cancel" button in order to exit the "Add Operator" dialog without adding a new operator.

Modify

Perform the following steps in order to Modify an Operator.

  1. Select the operator that requires the modification in the "Operator Editor" window.

  1. Click the "Edit" button in the "Operator Editor" window.

    The "Edit Operator" dialog will appear.

  1. Perform the required modifications to the operators name in the "Name:" field of the "Edit Operator" dialog.

  1. Ensure that the required category is selected.

    Note: An optional code field and an optional password field are available for security. If the added security is not necessary, then the code field and the password field may be left blank.

  1. Select the "OK" button in order to save the changes, or select the "Cancel" button in order to exit the "Edit Operator" dialog without saving any changes.

Category

Add

Perform the following steps in order to add a Category.

  1. Click the "New Category" button in the "Operator Editor" window.

    The "Category" dialog will appear.

  1. Enter a name for the new Category in the "Category" dialog.

  1. Select the "OK" button in order to add the new Category, or select the "Cancel" button in order to exit the "Category" dialog without adding a new Category.

    Note: The application will process an empty name as a cancel action.

Modify

Perform the following steps in order to modify a Category.

  1. Select the Category that requires the modification in the "Operator Editor" window.

  1. Click the "Edit" button in the "Operator Editor" window.

    The "Category" dialog will appear.

  1. Enter the required modifications to the name of the Category in the "Category" dialog.

  1. Select the "OK" button in order to save the changes to the Category, or select the "Cancel" button in order to exit the "Category" dialog without saving any changes to the Category.

    Note: The application will process an empty name as a cancel action.
