Service Configuration

Usage:

- DNA
The "AQ2DB Services configurator" is an interface that will allow the user to modify the behavior of the AQ2DB services.

The buttons which are described in the following list may be used at any time in the "Services configuration" screen.

  • The "OK" button is used in order to save all of the changes and close the "Services configuration" screen.

  • The "Cancel" button is used in order to cancel all of the changes and close the "Services configuration" window.

  • The "Apply" button is used in order to save all of the changes without closing the dialog box.

While performing a configuration modification to the AQ2DB, the AQ2DB services will be stopped.

The AQ2DB service will be restarted when the configuration modification has been completed.

Database

The "Database" tab in the "Services configuration" screen is used for the database connection settings.

  • The "Test Connection" button is used in order to test the validity of the connection.

Folder

The "Folder" tab in the "AQ2DB Services configuration" is used to set the:

  • File extension patterns

  • Report files source folder

  • Report files target folder

  • The "Add Folder Pair" button is used to add a source folder and a target folder.

  • The "Remove Folder Pair" button is used to remove the selected pair of folders.

Adding a folder pair

When adding a folder pair, two browsing dialog boxes will appear which are similar to the dialog that is shown in Illustration 6.

One dialog box will request that the user select which folder will be used as the "Production" folder, and the other dialog box will request that the user select which folder will be used as the "Processed" folder.

Scale Factor

The "Scale Factor" tab in the "AQ2DB Services configuration" screen is used to set different unit factors.

  • The "Edit Selected" button is used to edit the factor of the selected unit.

  • The "Metric Default" button is used to set the units factor to Metric.

  • The "US Feet Default" button is used to set the units factor to US Feet.

  • The "US Survey Default" button is used to set the units factor to US Survey.

When the "Store times in UTC" box which is shown in Illustration 8 is selected, all of the time will be stored in UTC.

Note: The unit factors can be used only if the user does not use AQReports and/or the drill and dragline universe. These unit factors are for users that feed the database information into customized software. This provides an easy way for the user to change the units. Modifying the units will break all the reports which are generated by AQReports and/or the reports that are generated by business objects that are using the drill and dragline universe.

Logs

The "Logs" tab in the AQ2DB "Services configuration" screen is used to specify that the AQ2DB Service maintain a log of any errors that may occur. The default setting is to allow logging.
