Machine Setup

Usage:

- DNA
The "Machine Editor" window allows the user to set the information about the machines.

The following list contains the actions that can be performed from the "Machine Editor" window. The "Machine Editor" window is shown in Illustration 1.

  • Add a new machine.

  • Modify the selected machine.

  • Delete the selected machine.

  • Undelete the selected machine.

  • Cancel all the changes that were made.

  • Save the changes that were made.

  • Exit the "Machine Editor" window.

Add a Machine

Perform the following Steps in order to add a machine.

  1. Click the "Add" button in the "Machine Editor" window.

    The "Add Machine" dialog will appear.

  1. Enter an ID number for the machine in the "ID" field of the "Add Machine" dialog.

  1. Enter a "Name" for the machine in the "Name" field.

    Note: It is not possible to have duplicate information for the machine ID and the machine name.

  1. If required, enter the "IP Address" for the machine in the "IP Address" field.

    Note: The "IP Address" is optional.

  1. Click the "OK" button in order to add the new machine, or click the "Cancel" button in order to exit the "Add Machine" dialog without adding a new machine.

    Note: The application will display a notification if the name is already in use.

When the machine name is added, the status of the machine is "New".

Modify a Machine

Perform the following steps in order to modify a machine.

  1. Select the machine that will be modified.

  1. Click the "Modify" button in the "Machine Editor" screen.

    The "Edit Machine" dialog will appear with the selected machine name.

  1. Enter the required changes to the machine ID in the "ID" field of the "Edit Machine" dialog.

    Note: The machine ID can be modified only if the status of the machine is "New".

  1. Enter the required changes to the machine "Name" in the "Name" field.

    Note: The machine name and the machine "IP Address" can be modified at anytime.

  1. Enter the required changes to the "IP Address" of the machine in the "IP Address" field.

    Note: The "IP Address" is optional.

  1. Click the "OK" button in order to save the changes to the machine, or click the "Cancel" button in order to exit the "Edit Machine" dialog without saving any changes.

    Note: The application will display a notification if the name is already in use.

After the machine name has been modified, the "Status" of the machine will change to "Modified".

Delete a Machine

Perform the following steps in order to delete a machine.

  1. Select the machine that will be deleted.

  1. Click the "Delete" button.

When the machine is deleted, the "Status" of the machine will change to "Deleted".

Undelete a Machine

Perform the following steps in order to restore a deleted machine.

  1. Select the machine that will be restored.

  1. Click the "Undelete" button.

When the machine is restored, the "Status" of the machine will return to "Modified".
