Conveyor Ratio Dial - Calibrate

Usage:

BG-245C 4XN
This calibration procedure is for the left and right conveyor ratio dials. The following submodes and calibrations are used for this procedure:

  • Submode c01 - Left conveyor ratio dial full CW.

  • Submode c02 - Left conveyor ratio dial full CCW.

  • Submode c03 - Right conveyor ratio dial full CW.

  • Submode c04 - Right conveyor ratio dial full CCW.

Note: Always perform both the full CW calibration and the full CCW calibration for each dial.

  1. Turn the key start switch to the ON position. Do not start the engine.

  1. Enter calibration mode 2 on the ECM display. To do so, press and hold the ECM Mode switch until "- 2 -" is showing in the display area. Submode c01 should be displayed which will confirm that the calibration mode has been entered.

  1. Ensure that submode c01 for the left conveyor ratio dial full CW is displayed on the ECM display. If submode c01 is not displayed, press and hold the display mode switch in the INCREMENT position until "c01" is showing.

  1. Turn the left conveyor ratio dial to the full CW position.

  1. Store the value of the signal currently being sent from the left conveyor ratio dial. In order to store the value, press and hold the display mode switch in the CLEAR/STORE position. While the switch is pressed, the red indicator (not accepted) or the amber indicator (accepted) will briefly flash. Observe the status of these indicators while the switch is in the CLEAR/STORE position, then release the display mode switch.

    Result:

Accepted - The amber indicator flashed. The calibration has been accepted. The calibration has been stored in the ECM memory. Proceed to Step 6.

Not Accepted - The red indicator flashed. The calibration has not been accepted. Ensure that the left conveyor ratio dial is in the full CW position. Repeat Step 5. If the red indicator is flashing again or if the diagnostic code CID 021 FMI F13 is active, replace the left conveyor ratio dial.

  1. Enter submode c02 for the left material height dial full CCW calibration. Ensure that submode c02 is displayed on the ECM display. If submode c02 is not displayed, press and hold the display mode switch in the INCREMENT position until "c02" is showing.

  1. Turn the left conveyor ratio dial to the full CCW position.

    Results:

Accepted - The amber indicator flashed. The calibration has been accepted. The calibration has been stored in the ECM memory.. Proceed to Step 9.

Not Accepted - The red indicator flashed. The calibration has not been accepted. Ensure that the left conveyor ratio dial is in the full CCW position. Repeat Step 8. If the red indicator is flashing again or if the diagnostic code CID 021 FMI F13 is active, replace the left conveyor ratio dial.

  1. Enter submode c03 for the right material height dial full CW calibration. Ensure that submode c03 is displayed on the ECM display. If submode c02 is not displayed, press and hold the display mode switch in the INCREMENT position until "c03" is showing.

  1. Turn the right conveyor ratio dial to the full CW position.

  1. Store the value of the signal currently being sent from the right conveyor ratio dial.

    Results:

Accepted - The amber indicator flashed. The calibration has been accepted. The calibration has been stored in the ECM memory.. Proceed to Step 12.

Not Accepted - The red indicator flashed. The calibration has not been accepted. Ensure that the right conveyor ratio dial is in the full CW position. Repeat Step 11. If the red indicator is flashing again or if the diagnostic code CID 031 FMI F13 is active, replace the right conveyor ratio dial.

  1. Enter submode c04 for the right material height dial full counter- CW calibration. Ensure that submode c04 is displayed on the ECM display. If submode c04 is not displayed, press and hold the display mode switch in the INCREMENT position until "c04" is showing.

  1. Turn the right conveyor ratio dial to the full CCW position.

  1. Store the value of the signal currently being sent from the right conveyor ratio dial.

    Results:

Accepted - The amber indicator flashed. The calibration has been accepted. The calibration has been stored in the ECM memory. Proceed to Step 15.

Not Accepted - The red indicator flashed. The calibration has not been accepted. Ensure that the right conveyor ratio dial is in the full CCW position. Repeat Step 14. If the red indicator is flashing again or if the diagnostic code CID 031 FMI F13 is active, replace the right conveyor ratio dial.

  1. The calibrations for the left conveyor ratio dial and the right conveyor ratio dial are complete. If another calibration is required for other components in the conveyor control system, enter the appropriate submode. Otherwise, return to the ECM normal mode 0.
