Vent Lines for the Aftercooler are Removed {1063}

Usage:

793B 1HL
Off-Highway Truck/Tractor:
793C (S/N: 4GZ1-UP; 4AR1-UP; ATY1-UP)
793 (S/N: 3SJ1-UP)
793B (S/N: 1HL1-UP)

The boss for the fill vent on the floating aftercoolers may leak coolant into the air system on on machines that are listed above.

Venting is not required for the 210-2582 Aftercooler Core As. The vent lines have been removed from the floating aftercooler.

The removal of the vent lines is effective with the following serial numbers in Table 1.

Effective Serial Numbers
S/N:ATY00830-UP
S/N:7TR01590-UP
S/N:2PK01626-UP

Table 2 lists parts that are required for the removal of the vent lines.

Table 2
Required Parts
Quantity     Part
2     1N-5999 Plug
2     7J-0204 O-Ring Seal

  1. Install a new O-ring seal (13) onto plug (12). Lubricate the O-ring seal with glycerin. Install the plug into the vent boss of the aftercooler.

    Torque ... 20 ± 2 N·m (15 ± 1 lb ft)

  1. Install a new O-ring seal (11) and (14). Install bolts (8) and hard washers (9) that were retained.

  1. Hose assembly (5) was once connected to a fitting at area (C). Use a 6V-9829 Cap As to cap the fitting at area (C). Refer to Illustration 1.

  1. Fill the system with coolant and check for leaks.
