Compactor Wheel - Remove

Usage:

826H AWF

Removal Procedure for the 825H Soil Compactor

Start By:

  1. Connect the steering frame lock.

  2. Release the hydraulic system pressure.

  3. Remove the front fenders.

  4. Remove the rear cleaner bar.

Front Wheel

Note: The following procedure is for the removal of one front wheel.

(1) Use Tooling (A) or (A1) based on requirements.
(2) Operating-voltage (480V - 240V)

  1. Place wood blocks in front of the rear tires and behind the rear tires.

  2. Place a wood block between the top of the rear axle and the frame, as shown.

  3. Attach a suitable lifting device to the push arm. The weight of the push arm and the tilt cylinder is approximately 474 kg (1045 lb). Remove bolts (1). Remove cap (2). Disconnect the rod end of cylinder (3) from the blade. Remove bolts (6) and remove pin (7). Disconnect hose assemblies (4) and (5).

  4. Remove bolts (10), cap (9), and shims (8) from the rear of the push arm. Remove the push arm.

    For Tooling (A)

  5. Use Tooling (A) to raise the front of the machine until the wheels are off the ground.

  6. Use Tooling (A1) to raise the front of the machine until the wheels are off the ground. Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1303, "Lift Group (Stand - 25 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (A1).

  7. Attach a suitable lifting device to the wheel and the rim. The combined weight of the wheel and the rim for the 825H Soil Compactor is approximately 1978 kg (4360 lb). Remove bolts (12) and the washers from the rim.

  8. Remove wheel (11) and the rim as a unit.

Rear Wheel

  1. Place a wood block between the top of the rear axle and the frame, as shown.

  2. Place Tooling (A) (not shown) or (A1) ( not shown) under the rear frame of the machine. Use Tooling (A) or (A1) to raise the machine until the wheel is off the ground. Lock Tooling (A) in position with a locking ring. Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1303, "Lift Group (Stand - 25 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (A1).

  3. Attach a suitable lifting device to the wheel and the rim. The combined weight of the wheel and the rim for the 825H Soil Compactor is approximately 1978 kg (4360 lb).

  4. Remove nuts (1) from the wheel.

    The 826H Landfill Compactor is shown.

  5. Remove the wheel and the rim (2) from the machine.

  1. Place wood blocks in front of the wheels and behind the wheels that are not being removed.

  2. Place a wood block between the top of the rear axle and the frame, as shown.

  3. Place Tooling (A) (not shown) or (A1) (not shown) under the loader frame of the machine. Use Tooling (A) or (A1) to raise the machine until the wheel is off the ground. Lock Tooling (A) in position with a locking ring. Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1303, "Lift Group (Stand - 25 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (A1).

  4. Attach a suitable lifting device to the wheel and the rim. The combined weight of the wheel and the rim for the 826H Landfill Compactor can weigh as much as 2753 kg (6070 lb).

  5. Remove nuts (1) from the wheel.

  6. Remove wheel (2) from the machine.
