Before any service work is done on the fuel system, the outer surface of the injection pump housing must be clean. |
NOTE: Illustrations show fuel injection pump housing and governor removed from engine. Service work can be done with it installed on engine.
1. Remove flange (1) and flange assembly (2) from cover (3).
2. Remove the seven bolts and cover (3).
3. Remove solenoid (4).
4. Remove cover (6).
5. Remove two bolts (5).
6. Remove the cover from shutoff housing (7).
7. Remove lever (10) from shaft (11).
8. Remove shaft (9) from the shutoff housing.
9. Remove lever (8) from shaft (11).
10. Remove shaft (11) from the shutoff housing.
11. Remove seal (12) from the shutoff housing.
NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the shutoff housing.
12. Put 4C-9507 Retaining Compoundon the outside diameter of the seal and install the seal (12) with Tooling (A) in the shutoff housing with the lip toward the outside. The outer face of the seal must be 0.99 mm (.039 in)below the surface of the housing. Remove the extra retaining compound from the housing and the seal after installation.
13. Install shaft (11) in the shutoff housing.
14. Install lever (8) on shaft (11).
15. Install shaft (9) in the shutoff housing.
16. Install lever (10) on shaft (11).
17. Put cover (3) and the gasket in position on shutoff housing (7) and install the two bolts (5).
18. Install cover (6) and the gasket.
19. Install solenoid (4) and the gasket.
20. Install cover (3) and the gasket on the pump housing.
21. Install the gasket, flange assembly (2), gasket and flange (1) on cover (3).
