Usage:
Start By:
a. remove air cleaner group
FLUID SPILLAGE CONTAINMENT
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to "TOOLS AND SHOP PRODUCT GUIDE, NENG2500", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines. Dispose fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
1. Disconnect two tubes (1) from raw water aftercooler and air inlet manifold group (2). Cap and plug all openings immediately.
2. Disconnect vacuum hose (3) from air inlet manifold. Remove four bolts (4) from manifold.
3. Loosen two clamps (5) at turbocharger. Install lifting sling (6) to raw water aftercooler and inlet manifold (2). Remove four bolts (7) and the remove raw water aftercooler and inlet manifold. The weight of the raw water aftercooler and inlet manifold is 52 kg (115 lb).
NOTE: Be sure to use new gaskets for the inlet manifold.
NOTE: Install in the reverse order.

Disassemble & Assemble Raw Water Aftercooler

1. Remove all bolts (1) and remove cover (2).
2. Remove raw water aftercooler core (3).
NOTE: Be sure to use new gaskets for both sides of core (3) at assembly.
NOTE: Assemble in the reverse order.
