- Auxiliary hydraulic system
- Reverse direction enable
- Continuous flow (optional equipment)
- Quick coupler (optional equipment)
The auxiliary hydraulic ECM will be enabled when the following conditions are met:
- The key start switch is in the ON position.
- The switch for the quick coupler is in the OFF position.
- The switch for the continuous flow is in the OFF position.
- The position sensor for the auxiliary control is in the NEUTRAL position.
When the machine is started, all of the outputs will be disabled until an input to the ECM is detected.
Auxiliary Hydraulic Control

Auxiliary hydraulic control |
The auxiliary hydraulic ECM will control the flow of hydraulic oil to the auxiliary hydraulic lines on the loader. The auxiliary control thumbwheel is a "return to center" type control. When the auxiliary control thumbwheel is in the NEUTRAL position (1), no flow of hydraulic oil is directed to the auxiliary hydraulic lines. Moving the auxiliary control thumbwheel upward (2) will open flow to the hydraulic line on the left side of the machine in order to move the work tool away from the machine. Moving the auxiliary control thumb wheel downward (3) will open flow to the hydraulic line on the right side of the machine in order to move the work tool toward the machine. For example, if a bucket clam is installed on the machine, moving the auxiliary control thumbwheel upward (2) will open the bucket clam. Moving the auxiliary control thumb wheel downward (3) will close the bucket clam.
The auxiliary control thumbwheel sends a proportional signal to the ECM. The ECM reads the input signal and the ECM sends a signal to the modulating valve that is proportionate to the input signal. As the auxiliary control thumbwheel is moved further from the NEUTRAL position (1), the signal to the ECM is increased.
Continuous Flow

(4) Switch (quick coupler) (5) Switch (continuous flow) |
The auxiliary hydraulic system has an optional continuous flow function. This function will allow the operator to continuously operate the auxiliary hydraulic circuit without actuating the auxiliary control. In order to enable the continuous flow function, the operator must perform the following steps:
- Set the auxiliary control in order to obtain the desired hydraulic flow
- Press the continuous flow switch (5) .
- Release the continuous flow switch (5) .
- Release the auxiliary control within one second of releasing the continuous flow switch.
The continuous flow function will be discontinued if any of the following inputs are actuated:
- Auxiliary control
- Switch (continuous flow) (5)
- Switch (quick coupler) (4)
Reverse Direction Enable

(6) Jumper (reverse direction enable) |
The auxiliary hydraulic system is equipped with a reverse direction enable function. The reverse direction enable is an input signal to the ECM. In order to enable the signal, a jumper must be installed in the wire harness that is located at the integrated toolcarrier. When the signal is enabled, the ECM will disable the modulating valve (No. 1). This will allow the auxiliary hydraulics to operate in only one direction. This function is primarily used for an attachment such as a broom.
Quick Coupler

(7) Lever (ball valve) |
The auxiliary hydraulic system has an optional quick coupler feature. This feature is used in order to operate the quick coupler pins of the integrated toolcarrier. Before the feature for the quick coupler can be used, the auxiliary lines must be disconnected from the work tool and the lever (7) on the ball valve must be placed in the horizontal position. The operator will then be able to use the switch for the quick coupler. Depressing the switch (4) in the LOCKED position will energize the solenoid valve (quick coupler) and the modulating valve (auxiliary) (No. 2). The quick coupler pins will extend. Depressing the switch (4) in the UNLOCKED position will energize the solenoid valve (quick coupler) and the modulating valve (auxiliary) (No. 1). The quick coupler pins will retract. All the other features of the auxiliary hydraulic ECM will be disabled.
