Electrical & Engine parameters supported on Public J1939 & Modbus

PL ELITE systems with a configuration file enable the Advanced PL Features. Controls supporting public J1939 and/or Modbus protocols can be added as inputs to the configuration file. Electrical and engine parameters supported by these controls and communicated on these protocols are possible inputs that can be added. The lists below are meant as a reference for what parameters could be added. The specific list of supported parameters can vary between engine controls and EMCP/PW installed as well as the package configuration. The best way to ensure that the availability of the parameters is to verify if the information is available on the local control panel. Always ensure that you have the latest engine control and EMCP/PW software installed.

Electrical Parameters – Public J1939

Table 1 is a subset of the public J1939 parameters the EMCP/PW generator controls support. Power metering is only supported on EMCP 3.2/3.3/4.2/4.3/4.4 and PW 2.0/2.1. Generator winding and bearing temperatures require an RTD or TC Module installed.

Electrical Parameters & Engine Parameters – Modbus

The PL ELITE hardware supports both Modbus RTU (Serial protocols RS-232, RS-485) and Modbus TCP/IP. The PL Hardware supports both Master and Slave functionality simultaneously. The EMCP/PW Modbus registers can be added as Modbus inputs to the configuration file uploaded to the PL Hardware.
