The CIO board is located behind the right door panel. The customer interface is used for remote status. The board connects to the display and drives the lighted bezel around the user interface.
Display Power - Port J4 - 24V power supply to the display
Display - Port J5 and J6 - Communication port from the CIO board to the display.
Display Ethernet - Port J7 - This RJ45 port is to connect the display to the Ethernet network of the customer (not required).
Remote Input and Output Dry Contacts - Port J8 (Inputs) and J10 (Outputs) - The remote input and output dry contacts are configured by using the UPSView software package. Each of the eight remote input contacts and eight remote output contacts are user programmable and has an operating parameter. The operating parameter is used in order to configure that contact.
Modem - Port J11 - Communication port from the CIO board to the modem.
Modem 24 vdc - Port J12 - 24V power supply to the modem.
RS-485 - Port J13 - Customer modbus remote terminal unit (RTU) connection.
Remote Status Panel - Port J14 - An external remote status panel (RSP) can be wired into the UPS to allow remote monitoring of the UPS.
CIO Ethernet - Port J16 - Main customer connection point.
Remote EPO - Port J20 - An external emergency power off (EPO) button can be wired to the UPS to allow remote shutdown of the UPS.
Customer I/O (CIO) Interface Board Removal
- Refer to Systems Operation, Test and Adjust, UENR4695, "Internal Component Pre-Removal Steps". Perform the internal component pre-removal procedure to shut down the system and to gain access to internal components.
- Disconnect all connectors to the PWA. The connectors are labeled to match the correct locations in the unit. Verify each connector label.
- Remove one ground screw with a Phillips screw driver. Located in the bottom left corner of board.
- Disconnect the seven white plastic stand-offs connecting the board to the SIO Cabinet.
- Remove the board.
Customer I/O (CIO) Interface Board Installation
- Position the board in the cabinet over the seven white stand-offs.
- Push the board, gently and evenly, onto all the stand-offs simultaneously. Make sure all stand-offs are locked in place.
- Attach one ground screw with a Phillips screw driver at the bottom left corner of the board.
- Plug the wire connectors into the correct connectors on the board. Check the labels on each connector for proper placement.
