Implement ECM

Joystick Calibrations (Lift & Tilt)

Table 1
Error Codes That Can Be Activated When Lever Position Sensor Calibrations Are Performed
Error Code  Probable Cause of Activation  Recommended Actions
10F0 - Calibration Out of Range Low  During calibration, the Implement ECM sensed that the duty cycle of the sensor was lower than the allowable duty cycle limit. An 10F0 error can occur at any of the following three calibration points:
- Full Travel In One Direction
- Center Position
- Full Travel In The Other Direction
· Check that the joystick is in the correct position before trying to advance to the next step.

· For full travel positions, ensure that the joystick is at the full travel position and not at the detent position.

· For the center position, ensure that the joystick is released and no external forces are causing the lever to remain out of center.

· Check that the joystick is mounted in the correct orientation.

· Check that the electrical wiring from the component back to the ECM is correct.

· Use Cat ET to verify the duty cycle of each joystick position. Refer to the table in the FMI 13 code information.
If the duty cycle values are not correct, replace the joystick and perform the calibration again.
10F1 - Calibration Out of Range High  During calibration, the Implement ECM sensed that the duty cycle of the sensor was higher than the allowable duty cycle limit. An 10F1 error can occur at any of the following three calibration points:
- Full Travel In One Direction
- Center Position
- Full Travel In The Other Direction

Blade Solenoid Calibrations (Raise, Lower, Tilt Left, and Tilt Right)

Table 2
Error Codes That Can Be Activated When Solenoid Valve Calibrations Are Performed
Error Code  Probable Cause of Activation  Recommended Actions
104C - Hold Pressure Too High  The Implement ECM recorded an average pressure that was too high for this calibration when the valves were in the hold position.  · Check the solenoid for proper operation.

· Check the hydraulic valve, lines, and connections are properly routed.

· Check the hydraulic valve, lines, and connections for proper operation.

·Check for any external conditions or mechanical problem that could be preventing proper operation.

· Check for contamination in hydraulics that can cause blocked orifices in lines or valves.

· Verify that the correct flash file is downloaded into the Implement ECM.

· Check the standby pressure for proper operation.

· Check the implement pumps and the pilot pump for proper operation.

· Replace the indicated solenoid valve and perform the calibration again.
104D - Hold Pressure Too Low  The Implement ECM did not detect enough oil pressure in the hydraulic system when it delivered a fixed amount of current to the valve solenoid for a fixed amount of time. Or, The Implement ECM recorded an average pressure that was too low for this calibration when the valves were in the hold position.
104E - Hold Pressure Inconsistent  During calibration, the Implement ECM could not obtain a valid, constant baseline pressure needed to complete the calibration because the oil pressure varied too much.
10F0 - Calibration Out of Range Low  While ramping current to the valve solenoid, the Implement ECM detected a change in oil pressure and the current was below the minimum acceptable calibration current.
10F1 - Calibration Out of Range High  The Implement ECM did not detect a change in oil pressure before the current to the valve solenoid reached some maximum value.

General Calibration Error Codes

Table 3
Error Codes That Can Be Activated When Any Calibration Procedures Are Performed
Error Code  Probable Cause of Activation  Recommended Actions
0002 - Active Diagnostic  An active diagnostic is preventing the calibration from being successfully performed.  · An active diagnostic code for any of the following will inhibit an implement calibration:
- Parking Brake Diagnostic Code
- Implement Lockout Switch Diagnostic Code
- Lift Lever or Tilt Lever Diagnostic Code other than an FMI 13
- An active diagnostic code for the solenoid that is being calibrated other than an FMI 13

· Resolve the problem that is causing the active diagnostic code. Then, retry the calibration.
000B - Calibration Not Supported  Incorrect / early version of Cat ET is used that does not support the calibration.
Incorrect flash file is downloaded into the Implement ECM
· Ensure that the latest version of Cat ET is installed on your PC.

· Verify that the correct flash file is downloaded into the Implement ECM.
Note:After the ECM has been flashed, cycle the key start switch from ON to OFF. Wait 10 seconds, then turn the key start switch to ON. Rerun the calibration procedure.
0004 - Calibration Active By another ECM  A calibration procedure is trying to run on the Monitoring System Display and Cat ET at the same time.

OR

A calibration was started, then canceled and another calibration is started too fast.
· Only run one calibration procedure at a time.

· If one calibration is canceled, wait at least 15 seconds before starting another calibration procedure.
0005 - Loss of Calibration Interlock  Cat ET has lost communication with the ECM.  · Check for any active Cat Data Link diagnostic codes, resolve any active codes.

· Check the Cat Data Link Connections.

· Check the Cat ET communication connections.

· Key cycle. Cycle the key start switch from ON to OFF, wait 10 seconds, then turn the key start switch to ON.
Rerun the calibration procedure.
0006 - Calibration aborted by Tool / Monitor  The calibration has been canceled by the user in Cat ET or in the Monitor  · Cancellation may cause activation of the 0006 or the 0009 error code.

· Wait at least 15 seconds before performing another calibration.
0009 - Calibration aborted by ECM  The calibration has been canceled by the ECM. Normally another error code will also be active indicating the cause of the ECM cancellation.  · Cancellation may cause activation of the 0006 or the 0009 error code.

· Wait at least 15 seconds before performing another calibration.

· Check for another active error code that indicates the cause of the problem and resolve the problem.
0106 - Calibration Value Not Saved  The calibration values were not saved.  The calibrated values are outside of the defined range. The value is defaulted to a value.
Check for another active error code that indicates the cause of the problem to resolve the problem.
