The steering system on the K Series machines is similar to the H Series machines. A separate steering pilot pump (1) now supplies oil through a pilot oil filter (2) to the STIC lever. The pilot pump also provides oil flow to the optional axle oil cooling system.
Other components in the steering system include:
- Steering pump
- Steering valve
- Steering cylinders
- Quad check valve
- Neutralizer valves
- Steering tank
Note: The 990K/ 844K machines can also be equipped with a secondary steering system.
