1. Attach Tooling (A) to torque converter housing (40) at three evenly spaced positions. Attach Tooling (C) to torque converter housing (40) in the same location as shown in the separation procedure. The weight of torque converter housing (40) is approximately 306 kg (674 lb)

2. Prior to assembly of torque converter housing (40) and housing (1), use Tooling (D) to clean both mating surfaces.

3. Apply Tooling (E) to the mating surface of housing (1).

4. Use Tooling (C) to ensure that torque converter housing (40) is level.

5. Lower torque converter housing (40) onto housing (1).

6. Install bolts (39).

7. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to cover (38). The weight of cover (38) is approximately 22 kg (49 lb). Install cover (38) and bolts (37).

8. Install the seal (not shown), yoke (31), cap (33), and retaining ring (32).

9. Install yoke (34), washer (35), and bolt (34).

10. Adjust the shims for the input shaft to provide 0.05 to 0.15 mm (0.002 to 0.006 inch) end play on the input shaft.

11. Adjust the shims for the output shaft to provide 0.05 to 0.15 mm (0.002 to 0.006 inch) end play on the output shaft.

12. Install valve assembly (30). Install bolts (29) and harness assembly (28).

13. Install sensor (27). Connect harness assembly (25). Install bolts (26) and (24).

14. Install sensor (23). Connect harness assembly (22). Install bolt (21).

15. Install valve assembly (16). Install bolts (15). Connect harness assemblies (17), (18), and (20). Install bolts (14) and (19).

16. Install valve assembly (13). Install spacers (11) and bolts (12). Connect harness assembly (10).

17. Install sensor (7). Install bolt (9). Connect harness assemblies (8) and (5).

18. Install valve assembly (3). Install bolts (2) and p-clip (6). Connect harness assembly (4).

19. Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to remove transmission (1) from Tooling (B). The weight of transmission (1) is approximately 710 kg (1565 lb).

1. Install the torque converter and the transmission in the machine.
