Cab - Tilt

Usage:

Install cab prop pin before working under raised cab to prevent it from falling which could result in injury or death.


Tilting the Cab

Two pins need to be removed in order to tilt the cab. The pins are located on the left side of the cab. One pin (1) is located at the front of the cab. The other pin (2) is located at the rear of the cab.

  1. Park the machine on a hard, level surface. Engage the parking brake and shut off the engine.

  2. Raise the hood in order to access the left side front cab mounting . Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hood Control".

  3. Remove bolts (3) and retain the four bolts and washers. Remove cover (4) in order to gain access to the left side rear cab mounting.

  4. Turn the screw in door (5) counterclockwise in order to unlock the door. Raise the door in order to access the hydraulic pump.

    Note: The door is located on the left side of the cab.

  5. Turn control lever (6) on the hydraulic pump to the DOWN position. Insert handle (7) into the hydraulic pump. Operate the hydraulic pump in order to raise the cab enough to take the load from the pins.

    Note: The handle for the hydraulic pump is located in the machine tool kit.

  6. Remove keeper pin (9) and pin (8) at the front of the cab. Pin (9) should be removed toward the rear of the machine.

    Note: Pin (8) may be equipped with either one or two keeper pins.

  7. Remove keeper pin (10) and pin (11) at the rear of the cab. Pin (11) should be removed toward the front of the machine.

  8. Use the hydraulic pump to tilt the cab until the holes in cylinder (12) are aligned with the holes in support bar (13) on the cylinder. Install locking pin (14) into the support bar on the cylinder. Slowly turn control lever (6) on the hydraulic pump in an upward direction. This will allow the cab to rest on the locking pin in the support bar on the cylinder. Fully turn the control lever on the hydraulic pump to the DOWN position.

Lowering the Cab

Perform the following steps in order to lower the cab:

  1. Use the hydraulic pump to take the load off locking pin (14) in cylinder (12). Remove the locking pin from the cylinder.

  2. Slowly turn control lever (6) on the hydraulic pump in a upward direction and hold in this position until the cab is fully lowered. Return the control lever to the DOWN position.

  3. Install pin (11) and keeper pin (10) in the rear cab mounting. Pin (11) should be installed from the front of the machine.

    Note: It may be necessary to use the hydraulic pump to raise the cab slightly in order to install pins (8) and (11). Raise the cab by using the hydraulic pump.

  4. Install pin (8) and keeper pin (9) in the front cab mounting. Pin (8) should be installed from the rear of the machine.

  5. Turn control lever (6) on the hydraulic pump in a upward direction in order to lower the cab onto pins (8) and (11).

  6. Close door (5) which covers the hydraulic pump. Turn the screw on the door clockwise in order to lock the door.

  7. Secure cover (4) to the machine. Use bolts (3) and the washers that were retained earlier.

  8. Lower the hood. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hood Control".
