Transmission Neutralizer Pressure Switch - Adjust

Usage:

TH82 3JN

Illustration 1g00712247

Transmission neutralizer pressure switch (1) is located behind the floormat in the area that is fastened to the side trim. The transmission neutralizer pressure switch is used in conjunction with the transmission neutralizer control (switch) on the instrument panel to disengage the transmission when pressure is applied to the brake pedal.

The brake pedal pressure that is needed to disengage the transmission can be adjusted in order to suit the operating conditions. Use the following procedure in order to adjust the transmission neutralizer pressure switch:

  1. Remove fasteners (2) that secure the floormat to the side trim. Pull back the floormat in order to access the transmission neutralizer pressure switch.

  2. Remove rubber boot (3) from transmission neutralizer pressure switch (1) in order to expose screw (4).

  3. Turn the screw in a counterclockwise direction if you wish to apply a lighter pressure to the brake pedal in order to disengage the transmission. Turn the screw in a clockwise direction if you wish to apply a firmer pressure to the brake pedal in order to disengage the transmission.

For more information on the transmission neutralizer, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Transmission Neutralizer Control" and Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Service Brake Control".
