(1) Right Hand Control Module (RHC). (2) Slip Limit Override Potentiometer.

This fault code indicates that the circuit for the slip limit override potentiometer has an above normal voltage. The circuit may be open.

  1. Enter Mode 3 at the electronic monitoring center (EMC). Select identification number P124. Vary the slip limit override potentiometer from minimum to maximum.

Expected Result: The display will vary from approximately 6% to 78%.

    • YES, check Mode 12 for proper setup. After all Mode 12 parameters are checked and/or corrected, save all of the values even if no changes are made. In order to save the parameters, press and hold the "Setup/Select" key for three seconds. Turn the key start switch to "OFF" and wait for 10 seconds. Operate the machine. Check to see if the fault code reoccurs. If the fault code reoccurs, go to Step 8.

    • NO, go to Step 2.

  1. Disconnect the harness connector (C140) for the RHC from the slip limit override potentiometer. Measure the resistance from terminal "A" to terminal "C".

Expected Result: The resistance measures approximately 1200 ohms.

    • YES, go to Step 3.

    • NO, replace the slip limit override potentiometer. Operate the machine and check for an active fault code. If the fault is not active, the repair is complete.

  1. While you are turning the potentiometer, measure the resistance from terminal "B" (wiper) to terminal "C" and terminal "B" to terminal "A".

Expected Result: While you are turning the potentiometer, the resistance varies from approximately 100 to 1100 ohms.

    • YES, go to Step 4.

    • NO, replace the slip limit override potentiometer. Operate the machine and check for an active fault code. If the fault is not active, the repair is complete.

  1. With the potentiometer disconnected, turn the key start switch to "ON". Measure the voltage on harness connector (C140) from terminal "A" to terminal "C".

Expected Result: The voltage measures approximately 5 DCV.

    • YES, go to Step 6.

    • NO, go to Step 5.

  1. Disconnect the connector (C011) for the RHC. Check for an open circuit between "C011-C16" and "C140-A". Check for an open circuit between "C011-D6" and "C140-C".

Expected Result: There is an open circuit.

    • YES, locate and repair the open circuit in Right Hand Console harness. Operate the machine and check for an active fault code. If the fault is not active, the repair is complete.

    • NO, go to Step 6.

  1. Disconnect the connector (C011). Check for an open circuit between "C011-D15" and "C140-B".

Expected Result: There is an open circuit.

    • YES, locate and repair the open circuit in Right Hand Console harness. Operate the machine and check for a active fault code. If the fault is not active, the repair is complete.

    • NO, go to Step 7.

  1. Check for a short circuit between "C140-B" and "C140-A". Also check for a short circuit between a positive voltage source and "C140-B".

Expected Result: There is a short circuit.

    • YES, locate and repair the short circuit in Right Hand Console harness. Operate the machine and check for a active fault code. If the fault is not active, the repair is complete.

    • NO, go to Step 8.

  1. Download the latest software for the control modules into all the control modules.

Expected Result: The fault code is active.

    • YES, go to Step 9.

    • NO, repair is complete.

  1. Replace the RHC.

Expected Result: The fault code is active.

    • YES, install a new RHC and repeat this troubleshooting procedure.

    • NO, go to Step 10.

  1. Install the original RHC.

Expected Result: The fault code is active.

    • YES, original RHC was faulty. Replace original RHC with new RHC. If the fault code is not active, repair is complete. Download the latest software into all modules.

    • NO, this fault code may have been caused by faulty connectors. Keep the original RHC on the tractor. Clean all terminals on the RHC and reconnect. If the fault code is not active, repair is complete. Download latest software into all modules.
