Start By:

  1. Remove the pump drive. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Pump Drive - Remove" for the machine that is being serviced.

  1. Remove gasket (2), the bolt and nut (3) from housing (1) .

  1. Remove bolt (4), washer (5) and shims (6) (not shown).

    Note: Hold the idler gear in place while the idler shaft is being removed or the idler gear will fall.

  1. Use a soft brass drift and carefully tap out idler shaft (8). Remove washer (10), two bearings (9) and idler gear (7) from housing (1) .

  1. Use Tooling (B) and remove two bearing cups (11) from idler gear (7) .

  1. Use Tooling (C) and remove retaining ring (12) from idler gear (7) .

  1. Remove eight bolts (13) from cover (14) .

    Note: When cover (14) is removed gear (16) can fall.

  1. Remove cover (14) from housing (1). Remove gasket (15) and gear (16) from housing (1) .

  1. Use Tooling (D) and remove bearing cup (17) (not shown) from cover (14) .

  1. Use Tooling (A) and remove bearings (18) (one on each end) from gear (16) .

  1. Use Tooling (D) and remove bearing cup (19) (not shown) from housing (1) .
