Assembly Procedure

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the assembly procedure, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble.

1. Install shuttle (3) into body (2).

2. Install shuttle guide (2) into body (2).

   Note: Inspect the O-ring seal. Replace the O-ring seal if the seal is worn or damaged.

   Note: Before installation, apply 1U-6396 O-Ring Assembly Compound to the O-ring seal.

3. Install base (5) and O-ring seal (7) on body (2).

4. Install washer (9), tag (6), and two bolts (8).

Note: This procedure can be used to assemble any check valve that is listed below.

End By:

1. Install the check valve (service brake). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Check Valve (Service Brake) - Remove and Install".

2. Install the check valve (retarder control). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Check Valve (Retarder Control) - Remove and Install".

3. Install the check valve (front brake cooler diverter valve). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Check Valve (Front Brake Cooler Diverter Valve) - Remove and Install".
