Fuel System Secondary Filter - Replace

Usage:

527 2RS

Personal injury or death can result from a fire.

Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire.

Clean up all leaked or spilled fuel. Do not smoke while working on the fuel system.

Turn the disconnect switch OFF or disconnect the battery when changing fuel filters.

NOTICE

Do not fill fuel filter with fuel before installing the fuel filter. Contaminated fuel causes accelerated wear to fuel system parts.

  1. Remove the engine compartment access cover on the right side of the machine.

  1. Remove the fuel filter element and properly discard the used fuel filter element.

  1. Wash the filter mounting base in clean nonflammable solvent. Be sure that all of the old seal is removed.

  1. Coat the seal of the new fuel filter element with clean diesel fuel.

  1. Install the fuel filter element to the filter base by hand.

  1. When the filter gasket contacts the filter base, tighten the filter element by an additional 3/4 turn. There are index marks on the filter at 90 degree intervals. Use the marks as a guide for proper tightening.

  1. Prime the fuel system. See the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel System - Prime" for this procedure.

  1. Replace the access cover.
