Engine Oil Pressure Sensor - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.



NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Disconnect the harness assembly from engine oil pressure sensor (1). Cut the cable straps that secure the harness assembly to the engine.

  2. Remove engine oil pressure sensor (1).

  3. Inspect the condition of the O-ring seal on engine oil pressure sensor (1). Replace the O-ring seal, if necessary.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install engine oil pressure sensor (1). Tighten the engine oil pressure sensor to a torque of 10 ± 2 N·m (89 ± 18 lb in).

  2. Connect the harness assembly to engine oil pressure sensor (1). Secure the harness assembly to the engine with cable straps.
