Water Pump - Install

Usage:

D250E II 4PS

Installation Procedure

  1. Inspect all parts and clean all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

  1. Install O-ring seal (33) to water pump (19) . Install gasket (31) to water pump (19) .

  1. Position water pump (19) , gasket (31) and the O-ring seal to the engine. Install bolts (32) that secure water pump (19) to the engine.

  1. Position fan guard (25) to the radiator. Install bolt (30 ) that secures fan guard (25) to the radiator.

  1. Install bolt (29) that secures fan guard (25) to the radiator. Install bolt (24) that secures fan guard (25) to the radiator.

  1. Position ether control (26) to the radiator. Install two bolts (27) that secure ether control (26) to the radiator. Install bolt (28) and the wire clip to the radiator.

  1. Connect hose (23) to water pump (19) . Tighten band clamp (22) that secures hose (23) to water pump (19) .

  1. Install bolt (21) to water pump (19) .

  1. Connect the electrical connection on wire assembly (18) . Position wire assembly (18) and mounting bracket (20) to water pump (19) . Install bolt (17) that secures mounting bracket (20) to water pump (19) .

  1. Position hose (15) to shut off valve (14) . Tighten band clamp (16) that secures hose (15) to shut off valve (14) .

  1. Connect ether hose (6) by installing nut (13) .

  1. Install pipe (7) in hose (9) and hose (11) . Tighten band clamp (10) that secures pipe (7) in hose (11) . Tighten band clamp (4) that secures pipe (7) in hose (9) .

  1. Install four reusable straps (3) to pipe (7) , ether hose (6) and overflow hose (12) .

  1. Position pipe clamp (8) to the mounting bracket, pipe (7) and ether hose (6) . Install bolt (2) and the nut that secures pipe clamp (8) to the mounting bracket.

  1. Position pipe clamp (1) to pipe (7) , the hose and hose clamp and ether hose (6) . Install bolt (5) and the nut that secures pipe clamp (1) and the hose clamp together.

  1. Fill the radiator with coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7028 for the proper procedure.

  1. Close the engine hood.
