Removal Procedure

- Remove the cotter and clevis pin (1). Loosen nut (2) and remove governor control cable (3) .
Note: Plug all the connectors.

- Disconnect wiring harness (5) from fuel shutoff solenoid (4) .
- Remove oil tube assembly (8) and fuel tube assembly (7). Disconnect tube assembly (6) and fuel hose assembly (9) from the governor.

- Remove spring clip (10). Use Tooling (A) in order to slide governor connection tube (11) into the cylinder head assembly.

- Use Tooling (B) in order to remove retainer ring (14) and remove clevis pin (13) .
Note: The clevis pin (13) and retainer ring (14) must be with the governor for any adjustments.

- Remove the three bolts and washers (12) that hold the governor in position. Carefully remove the governor and the O-ring seal from the engine.

Do not damage the fuel control linkage during removal or installation of the governor. |
- Remove governor connection tube (11). Remove the seal from the cylinder head. Check the seals for wear or damage. If necessary, replace the seals.
Note: Refer to the Service Manual, SENR6454 for the disassembly, assembly or bench testing of the governor.
