CID 0269 FMI 00 Sensor Power Supply Above Normal Range - Test
This diagnostic code is recorded when the ECM reads the voltage of the sensor supply circuit (wire 709-OR) as above normal range.
The possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed:
- Wire (709-OR) is shorted to +battery in the machine harness.
- The ECM is faulty. This is unlikely.
Note: Ensure that CID 0269 FMI 00 is on-hold. Ensure that the "SERV CODE" indicator is illuminated. This diagnostic code causes the transmission to not upshift higher than first gear.
- CHECK FOR A SHORT TO +BATTERY.
- Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
- Disconnect the machine harness connectors J1 and J2 from the ECM.
- At machine harness connector J1 and J2, measure the resistance from J2-15 (wire 709-OR) to J1-1 (wire 126-PK).
Expected Result: The resistance should be greater than 5000 ohms.
Results:
- YES - The resistance is greater than 5000 ohms. The harness circuit resistance is correct. It is unlikely that the ECM is faulty. Exit this procedure and perform this CID 0269 FMI 00 again. If the cause is not found, replace the power train ECM. See Testing And Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Replace". STOP.
- NO - The resistance is less than 5000 ohms. The machine harness is faulty. There is a short between the +battery circuit and the sensor supply circuit (wire 709-OR) in the machine harness. Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness. STOP.
- YES - The resistance is greater than 5000 ohms. The harness circuit resistance is correct. It is unlikely that the ECM is faulty. Exit this procedure and perform this CID 0269 FMI 00 again. If the cause is not found, replace the power train ECM. See Testing And Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Replace". STOP.
