Transmission Lubrication (1) Passage (2) Passage (3) Passage (4) Passage (5) Passage (6) Passage (7) Passage |
The outlet oil from the power train oil cooler combines with the excess oil flow from the steering clutch and from the brake lubrication section of the oil pump. This will provide lubrication for the transmission. The planetary gears are lubricated by pressure. The bearings are lubricated by pressure. The oil flows through an external line to the main case of the tractor. The oil then flows through an internal tube to passage (7) in the transmission cover. Some of the oil flows back through passage (3) into the transmission case assembly. The oil flows to the tubes for lubrication of the bevel gear, pinion, and transfer gears.
Some of the oil flows through passage (2) to passage (4) . This oil lubricates the No. 1 planetary gears, No. 2 planetary gears, bearings, and clutches. The other oil flows through passage (1) to passage (5) in the input shaft. The oil then flows through passage (6) . This oil lubricates the No. 3 planetary gears, No. 4 planetary gears, No. 5 planetary gears, bearings, and clutches.
The leakage from the clutch will drain to the bottom of the transmission case. The return oil will also drain to the bottom of the transmission case. The oil will then drain to the sump.
