The drive shaft connects the yoke on the torque converter to yoke assembly (4) . Yoke assembly (4) is connected by splines to transmission input shaft (3) . When the speed clutch and the direction clutch are engaged, power is sent from the planetary transmission to transmission output shaft (7) . Then, the power is sent to transfer gear (8) . Transfer gear (8) turns transfer gear (1) . Transfer gear (1) is connected by splines to pinion (2) . Pinion (2) turns bevel gear (5) . Bevel gear (5) is fastened by bolts to bevel gear shaft (9) . Inner axle shafts (10) send the power to the steering clutches and to the brakes.
The bevel gear, the pinion, and the transfer gears get the oil for lubrication from the lubrication system. The oil flows through a sleeve between the transmission rear cover and the transmission case. The oil then flows into tubes (6) . The oil flows through tubes (6) . This oil provides lubrication for the bearings, the pinion, the bevel gear, and the transfer gears.
