Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |

(1) Lubricating oil tank. (2) Gasket. (3) Screen. (4) Block. (5) Bolts. |
The screen for the saw pump is located next to the port for the feed roller arm pump.
Note: The screen should be changed when the lubricating oil tank is empty. Some lubricating oil may exit the port for screen (3) when the screen is removed.
- Remove the four bolts (5) from the block (4) .
- Gently pull block (4) away from the oil tank (1). Remove the screen (3) .
- Remove gasket (2). Clean the surface.
- Wash the screen in a clean nonflammable solvent.
- Apply silicone sealant to the new gasket (2). Install the new gasket (2) .
- Install the screen (3). Apply silicone sealant to the mating surface of block (4). Secure block (4) by using the four bolts (5) .
