Stopping the Machine

Usage:

45 1DR

------ WARNING! ------

With the engine running, this machine spot turns when the steering wheel is turned, even with the transmission in NEUTRAL and the parking brake engaged.

To avoid personal injury due to unexpected machine movement, make sure the area is free of personnel before starting the engine.

Be prepared to apply the service brakes to counteract any steering that might occur when the engine starts.

----------------------

Use the following procedure in order to stop the machine.

  1. Move the machine to a safe location on level ground.

  1. Pull back the governor control lever in order to decrease the engine speed.

  1. Move the transmission control to the NEUTRAL position.

  1. Push down the service brake pedal in order to stop the machine.

  1. If the PTO is engaged, disengage the PTO.

  1. Lower all implements to the ground.

  1. If an implement is attached to the three-point hitch, rotate the draft/position control knob fully in the counterclockwise direction in order to place the hitch in the position control detent.

  1. Apply the parking brake.

If the engine will be stopped, see Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Stopping the Engine".
