Illustration 2 g00329525 - In order to hold the front frame and the rear frame rigid, install the steering frame lock pin.
- The brakes can be released with the optional manual parking brake pump. The brakes can be released when you use the following procedure.

Illustration 3 g00040674 - In order to release the brakes, use the FT-1973 Adapter Group and the FT-1845 Pump Group.
- Plug the main pressure hose at the connection of the main pressure hose to the FT-1973 Adapter Group (5).
- Turn the handle (4) of the bypass to the CLOSED position.
- Observe the opening pressure of the relief valve (2) while you operate the pump handle (3).

NOTICE Possible brake piston seal damage could result without checking the relief valve. The opening pressure must be checked and adjusted before making a connection.
- Adjust the opening pressure to
3030 ± 70 kPa (440 ± 10 psi) . Turn the handle (4) of the bypass to the OPEN position.Show/hide tableIllustration 4 g00356552 - Disconnect the brake line. In order to prevent the loss of fluid, plug the brake line.
- Install the 8T-2857 Brake Release Adapter (6). Install the remainder of the FT-1973 Adapter Group (5) to the pump pressure hose.
- Place the pump near the operator. Fasten the seat belt.
- Turn the handle (4) for the bypass to the CLOSED position.
- Operate the pump handle in order to produce a pressure rise. The seal is seated when the pressure rises to the maximum value.

NOTICE Do not allow the pressure to drop below
1378 kPa (200 psi) while towing. If partial brake engagement occurs there will be brake damage. Make sure the brakes are fully released while there is machine movement. - The machine can be towed.

Note: Remove the panel on the left side of the hydraulic tank.
- Close the needle valve (2). In order to pressurize the brakes, operate the plunger on the pump (1). The movement of the plunger will become difficult when there is enough pressure in order to release the brakes.
- When the towing is complete, open the needle valve (2).
