Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".

1. Park the machine on a flat, level surface. Lower the bucket to the ground. Chock the wheels in order to keep the machine from rolling when the drive shaft is removed.

2. Support center drive shaft (2). Remove four bolts (1) and two straps (3) from each end of center drive shaft (2) .

3. Carefully remove center drive shaft (2) .

Installation Procedure

1. Carefully install center drive shaft (2) .

2. Support center drive shaft (2). Install two straps (3) and four bolts (1) on each end of center drive shaft (2). The torque for bolts (1) is 60 ± 10 N·m (44 ± 7 lb ft).

3. Lubricate the center drive shaft. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7018, "950G Wheel Loader and 962G Wheel Loader" for the correct procedure.

End By: Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
