SUBJECT: GOVERNOR MOTOR

PROBLEM:

The Governor Motors on the affected machines may fail causing an inability to control the engine speed with the engine speed dial or the engine speed back up switch.

SOLUTION:

One of the following may be used as an interim solution:

Note: Engineering has advised not to cycle the key switch "on/off" repeatedly as this may cause the governor motor to fail.

  1. Replace parts with like parts until the new governor motors are available. Parts are being rerouted from the factory to satisfy field population parts backorders.
  2. In the event that parts are immediately unavailable the machine may be run starting the machine at low idle and then securing the governor actuator in the high idle position by some mechanical means.

Please refer questions to the appropriate product support analyst.
