In order to allow equitable parts availability to all participating dealers, please limit your initial parts order to not exceed 29% of dealership population. This is an initial order recommendation only, and the ultimate responsibility for ordering the total number of parts needed to satisfy the program lies with the dealer. |
ACTION REQUIRED
At 100 and 250 service meter hours: 1. Obtain SOS sample and analyze for excessive wear metals (ppm). 2. Remove and inspect rear wheel magnetic plugs for excessive debris. 3. Remove and inspect rear axle lubrication system pump screen for excessive debris. 4. If any of the oil samples contain excessive wear metals or inspections contain excessive debris, remove the rear axle housing inspection cover to visually inspect the differential for excessive debris. Document findings of any excessive wear metals or debris, including pictures and contact Lower Power Train Service Engineer Tom Gregg at gregg_thomas_j@cat.com for further instructions. After these two additional hour interval checks resume the normal maintenance intervals as described in the machine Operation and Maintenance Manual. |
