Additional Cable Straps Used On Control Switch Wiring {2359}

Usage:

550 (7ZN),
570 (4XR),
580 (7CN) Wheel Harvesters;
487 (6KW),
495 (5TZ),
687 (4FZ),
695 (8MW) Tree Harvesters

Description of Change: Additional cable straps have been added to the left hand and right hand control units. The cable straps help secure the wiring harness inside the hand control units to increase reliability. The additional cable straps are effective with 550 (7ZN158-Up), 570 (4XR170-Up), and 580 (7CN193-Up) Wheel Harvesters. The additional cable straps are adaptable to first production on all machines listed.

Installation Procedure

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death can result from escaping fluid under pressure.

Escaping fluid under pressure, even a very small pin-hole size leak, can penetrate body tissue and cause serious injury and possible death. If fluid is injected into your skin, it must be treated immediately by a doctor familiar with this type of injury.

Always use a board or cardboard when checking for a leak.

Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause injury to persons on or near the machine.

To prevent personal injury or death, perform the following:

Park the machine on a smooth, level surface.

Lower the bucket and or attachments to the ground and engage the parking brake.

Stop the engine and remove the key.

Block the wheels and install the steering frame lock.

-------WARNING!-------

1. Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep other personnel away from the machine and harvester head.

2. Park the machine on a smooth, level surface. Move away from other operating machines and away from personnel

3. Engage the parking brake. Place blocks in front of the wheels. Place blocks behind the wheels.

4. Install the steering frame lock so that the machine cannot articulate. Install the cab lock pin.

5. Turn the attachment switch to the OFF position. Stop the engine by turning the engine start switch key to the OFF position.

6. Move the control levers through the full range of travel.

7. In order to relieve all of the pressure in the hydraulic oil tank, slowly loosen the filler cap.

8. Pull the wiring harness boot back on the left hand control unit, exposing the wiring harness.

9. Connect two cable straps as shown in the illustration above. Use the cable straps to secure all loose wires in the harness.

10. Repeat Step 8 and Step 9 for the right hand control unit.
