Usage:
PS300 (4PN) Pneumatic Roller
Description of Change: Shimming is now required when bolting the rear transmission on the chassis. This prevents early failure of the differential shafts.
Adaptable To: This shimming is effective with PS300B (4PN310) and can be retrofitted to the earlier PS300B (4PN1-308, 4PN309).
NOTE: Any time the rear transmission is removed from the machine or differential shaft failure has occurred, the shimming is needed.
Shimming Procedure:
1. Shimming is required at the front line of fixation bolts. Apply a straight edge on the surface of the steel blocks welded on the chassis.
2. Using a depth micrometer or a feeler gauge, measure and record the gap between the straight edge and the blocks. The value is the average between the right and left measurements "A" and "B" on each block. (Refer to Figure 2.)
3. Using 4 spacers having the same thickness, make the same measurements on the upper side of the rear transmission plate. (Refer to Figure 1.)
4. Determine the shimming needed by adding the values found on the chassis and on the plate.
Shimming Thickness = Total Gap ± 0.1 mm
Shims available:
NOTE: Effective with 4PN300, 4PN306-Up the PS300B have been delivered with machined upper plate face and only the shimming due to the chassis is required.
