Usage:
24H (7KK) Motor Graders
Description of Change: A new wrap material extends the service life of the hump hose.
Adaptable To: The new 175-5296 Hump Hose cancels and directly replaces the former 125-2028 Hump Hose. The new hump hose is effective with 24H (7KK74) Motor Graders and is adaptable to earlier machines.
NOTE: To further extend the service life of the new or former hump hose, ensure it is not in a bind. If the hump hose is in a bind, refer to the following adjustment procedure and illustration.
Procedure To Extend Hump Hose Service Life:
1. Remove the bolts for the two clamps (Item 1) that secure the tube assembly (Item 2). Note: Retain the bolts for later assembly.

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.
Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.
Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

2. Loosen all the hose clamps (Item 3) on the hump hose (Item 4) and the hose clamps (Item 5) between the tube assembly (Item 2) and the hose (Item 6).
NOTE: To prevent draining the oil, use caution not to pull the tube or hoses apart.
3. Adjust the tube assembly (Item 2) and hump hose (Item 4) so the hump hose is in a relaxed state.
4. Using the bolts removed in Step 1, secure the clamps (Item 1) and the tube assembly (Item 2).
5. Tighten the hose clamps (Items 3 & 5) loosened in Step 2.
