Description of Change: A new locking pin (158-0101) is now available as a replacement for the former locking pin (083-8078).
Adaptable To: The above machines for use in 130-8483 Quick Coupler Group and 8I-3155 Quick Coupler and Mounting Group.
The improved design includes an internal chamfer which, when assembled to the hydraulic actuating cylinder gives improved fit up.
NOTE: Care should be taken when reworking machines with new pins, that the chamfer on the end of the hydraulic cylinder rod should be in good condition, otherwise service life of the new pin will be reduced. As the internal parts of the hydraulic cylinder is not serviced separately, a new cylinder should be installed.
Assembly Procedure
The pin is assembled by:
(1) pin, (2) washer, (3) bolt, (4) cylinder rod
1. Apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock to the threads of 8T-4172 Retaining Bolt (3).
2. Locate 8T-4121 Washer (2) under the head of the bolt. Insert the bolt through 158-0101 Pin (1) and into the thread of Cylinder Rod (4).
3. Extend the cylinder rod in order to hold the rod with a soft jawed clamp. Be careful not to damage the rod's finish.
4. Tighten the bolt to a torque of 30 N·m (24 lb ft).
