Supplement To Correct Final Drive Torque Values {4092,4055}

Usage:

D250E (5TN),
D300E (7FN) Articulated Trucks

Reference: SENR8636; Specifications, D250E and D300E Articulated Trucks Power Train; Wheel Group Final Drive 122-9984 (D300E); Page 34. This manual is part of SENR8635 Service Manual.

Reference: SENR8653; Disassembly & Assembly, D250E & D300E Articulated Trucks Power Train; "Install Final Drive Carriers & Ring Gears"; Page 142. This manual is part of SENR8650 Service Manual.

The torque values for the D300E Articulated Trucks listed for item (2) should include a 120 ± 10 deg torque turn after tightening to the specified torque. It should read as follows:

(2) Torque for fifteen bolts...95 - 135 N·m (70 - 100 lb ft)

Tighten an additional 110 to 130 deg.

The torque values listed in step 5 are incorrect, and are different for the D250E and the D300E Articulated Trucks. Step 5 should read as follows:

5. Install 12 bolts (2) that hold the final drive planet carrier to the wheel assembly.

For the D250E, tighten the bolts to a torque of 230 to 310 N·m (170 to 229 lb ft).

For the D300E, tighten the bolts to a torque of 95 to 135 N·m (70 to 100 lb ft). Tighten an additional 110 to 130 deg.
