Description of Change: Improved brake hubs are now available for certain 789 and 793 Off-Highway Trucks. The new brake hubs have drilled cooling holes which improve component life.
For the 789 Trucks, the new 166-8686 Brake Hub is a direct replacement for the former 147-1150 Brake Hub in the 144-3855 Final Drive and Brake Wheel Group. The 164-6607 Service Brake Group features a 166-8686 Brake Hub to be used for service on machines equipped with the 142-5946 Cast Rear Wheel.
The 166-8687 Brake Hub is a direct replacement for the 136-7006 Brake Hub in the 115-1778 Final Drive and Brake Wheel Group. The 8X-9704 Service Brake Group 166-8687 Brake Hub to be used for service on machines equipped with the 125-0061 Fabricated Wheel Assembly.
NOTE: A 137-1076 Seal Retainer is required for the new 789 brake hub installation.
For the 793 Trucks, the new 152-1901 Brake Hub is a replacement for the former 136-7007 Brake Hub used in the 159-0038 Final Drive Brake Wheel Group. The 8X-0241 Service Brake Group features a 152-1901 Brake Hub to be used for service on machines equipped with the 135-2555 Cast Rear Wheel Assembly and the 132-4515 Fabricated Rear Wheel Assembly.
NOTE: A 137-1077 Seal Retainer is required for the new 793 brake hub installation.
Adaptable To: The 166-8686 Brake Hub is effective with 789C (2BW117) Off-Highway Trucks and 0R9043 Reman Wheel Station (SN#16543). The 166-8686 Brake Hub is adaptable to the 144-3855 Final Drive and Brake Wheel Group, the 164-6607 Service Brake Group and the 0R9043 Reman Wheel Station.
The 166-8687 Brake Hub is adaptable to 115-1778 Final Drive and Brake Wheel Group, the 8X-9704 Service Brake Group and the 0R9040 Reman Wheel Station.
The 152-1901 Brake Hub is effective with 793C (4AR269) Off-Highway Trucks, 0R9046 and 0R9043 Reman Wheel Station (SN#15057).
The 152-1901 Brake Hub is adaptable to the 159-0038 Final Drive and Brake Wheel Group, the 8X-0241 Service Brake Group, the 0R9043 and 0R9046 Reman Wheel Station.
