New Right Side Platform Design Will Reduce Cracking Between Platform And Cowling {7253}

Description of Change: A cast corner has been added to the bottom-inside corner of the support where the pipe meets the cowling. The addition of this casting provides support which reduces cracking between the platform and cowling.

A 2G-2262 Corner added in the new design allows an uninterrupted weld around the bottom-inside corner of the 115-5707 Right Side Support Assembly. This strengthens the area where cracks sometimes appear.

The 2G-2262 Corner can be installed in earlier models using the following procedure.

1. Shorten the front support tube (A) 38.4 mm (1.51 in).

2. Position 2G-2262 Corner and weld using 3 mm (0.1 in) fillet weld.

Adaptable To: Effective with 776D (5ER114), 777D (3PR975), 777D (2YW106) and adaptable to 776D (5ER1-113), 777D (3PR1-974) and 777D (2YW1-105).
