Improved Drive Gears Increase Torque Converter Service Life {3101,3108}

Usage:

520D (9YK) Grapple Skidders;
824C (85X),
824G (4SN) Wheel Tractors;
825C (86X),
825G (6RN) Soil Compactors;
826C (87X),
826G (7LN) Landfill Compactors;
980C (63X, 13B, 2EB, 2XD),
980F (8CJ, 3HK, 5XJ),
980F Series II (8JN, 4RN),
980G (2KR, 9CM, 2SR),
988F Series II (2ZR) Wheel Loaders

Description of Change: The improved drive gear (3) eliminates the need for a snap ring. Formerly, the outer race (2) and roller bearing (7) were secured by a snap ring which was seated in a groove cut in gear (3). Roller bearing (7) and outer race (2) are now secured by a shoulder that is cut into the inside diameter of gear (3).

Adaptable To: The improved 105-0226 and 1T-1338 Drive Gears are effective with torque converters shown in the Table below. The improved drive gears are adaptable to first production for the machines listed. Refer to the Power Train, Disassembly and Assembly Manual for installation and removal procedures on the torque converter for your machine.
