This article replaces the previous article published May 5, 1997; "Improvements To Brake Caliper Seals Prevent Leaks In High Temperature Applications".
The seal kits, in the following chart, have new Viton radial plug seals which withstand temperatures up to 200° C (392° F). The new 145-4948 Cover is a thicker cover design to prevent deflection. The following improvements are adaptable to articulated trucks as listed in the chart. Refer to the illustrations and Component Indentifiaction Chart below for the proper installation of the backup rings.
