New Flagpin Retention Method Improves Torsional Strength {7120}

Usage:

Challenger 35 (8DN),
Challenger 45 (1DR),
Challenger 55 (7DM) Agricultural Tractors

Description of Change: An improved flagpin retention method is now available for the lift link/lift arm connection and the lift cylinder on the three-point hitch. Previously, the flagpin was held in place with a shoulder bolt. The new design uses a bolt/washer/spacer combination which better distributes the bending loads and reduces the chance of bolt shearing.

Adaptable To: The improved flagpin design is effective with Challenger 35 (8DN897), Challenger 45 (1DR1793), and Challenger 55 (7DM974) Agricultural Tractors. The improved flagpin design is adaptable to Challenger 35 (8DN215-896), Challenger 45 (1DR720-1792), and Challenger 55 (7DM1-973) Agricultural Tractors. Challenger 35 (8DN1-214) and Challenger 45 (1DR1-719) Agricultural Tractors were originally equipped with a different style pin, and the improved pin is adaptable to these machines only if they have been upgraded to the configuration shown in Illustration 1. See the following chart for the parts required.
