Usage:
784B (5RK),
785B (6HK),
789B (7EK),
793B (1HL) Off-Highway Trucks
Description of Change: A new temperature sensor is used to monitor the oil temperature in the differential housing. It is to be used ONLY in trucks equipped with Vital Information Management System (VIMS). The new temperature sensor has a longer probe to extend deeper into the oil and thus avoids the affects of the differential housing temperature.
NOTE: Off-highway trucks factory equipped with the rear axle lubrication and filtration system or retrofitted to this rear axle lubrication and filtration system use 100-3055 Electronic Control Group (temperature sensor) and should NOT change their temperature sensors. Only those off-highway trucks which do not plan to update to the rear axle lubrication and filtration system (or those which are to have an interim correction to the temperature reading) should obtain the new temperature sensor.
Adaptable To: The new 128-5662 Temperature Sensor Group is a direct replacement for 100-3055 Electronic Control Group (temperature sensor) for this application. This change is adaptable to the following off-highway trucks (unless they have been retrofitted with rear axle lubrication and filtration system).
- 784B (5RK01 - 22)
- 785B (6HK01 - 522),
- 789B (7EK01 - 370),
- 793B (1HL01 - 322) Off-Highway Trucks (VIMS trucks only)
- 785B (6HK01 - 522),
NOTE: Trucks not equipped with VIMS do not use a temperature sensor in the differential housing.
