Description of Change: A new adjustment strap and retention hardware is now used on the alternator group. The new strap has changed from 9.52 mm (.375 in) to 8.0 mm (.31 in) thick, and has better flatness control. The new flatter strap and the addition of the washer between the strap and adjusting lug, reduce stress on the bolt washer and adjusting lug of the alternator, preventing loss of belt tension.

The following illustration provides the proper location of the additional 7X-0605 Washer.

The new belt adjusting strap is effective with 120H (6TM338, 5FM363, 3GR31, 4MK155, 2AN60, 6NM250), 135H (7MM1, 8WN256, 3YK132), 12H (5ZM1, 4ER306, 4XM766, 8MN438, 2WR467, 2LR291), 140H (8JM260, 3FR43, 5HM332, 2ZK880, 9TN69, 9ZN91, 8KM386), 143H (1AL154), 160H (9JM1, 2FM340, 3HR5, 9EJ291, 3GM35, 6WM339), 163H (5AK74), 14H (7WJ248), and 16H (6ZJ110, 3JR9) Motor Graders.
