--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------
Description of Change: The turbocharger exhaust coupling on 3500 Engines in the above machines is being installed with a Vee Band Clamp. This clamp will help to ensure that the exhaust coupling keeps a tight fit during engine operation, and should reduce exhaust leaks.
Adaptable To: See the chart for adaptability of the 6L-3005 Vee Band Clamp, and the 123-6979 Vee Band Clamp. Couplings and supports are also shown with the models they are used on.
NOTE: A coupling change is necessary to accommodate the new 6L-3005 Vee Band Clamp and 123-6979 Vee Band Clamp. See illustration 1. The 3508 and 3512 engines also require a change to the coupling support. See illustration 2. Shimming of the turbocharger and/or exhaust elbow may be necessary on field rework. Some settling of the manifold and turbocharger support during operation may create the need for realignment also.
