Description of Change: A new stem, with a greater C-T (cylinder to tank) slot restriction, slows the oil flow from the cylinder through the scarifier control valve group to the tank. The slower flow of oil helps control a smooth up and down motion of the scarifier.
Adaptable To: The new 128-2972 Stem replace the former 101-1152 Stem. the new stem is effective with 107-0543 (change 06) and 119-9549 (change 02) Scarifer Control Valve Groups. Earlier scarifier control valve groups can be updated by completing the following procedure.

Procedure To Update Earlier Scarifier Control Valve Groups
1. Remove 101-1152 Valve Stem (1).
2. Replace 101-1152 Valve Stem (1) with new 128-2972 Valve Stem (1).
NOTE: The callout (1) is for both former and new valve stem location.

3. Remove hose (2) from connector assembly (4) on scarifier cylinder (3).
4. Remove connector assembly (4) from scarifier cylinder (3).

5. Remove plug-orifice (6) from connector (5).
6. Replace connector (5) into scarifier cylinder (3).
7. Connect hose (2) to connector (5).
