Rubber Hose Replaces Steel Tube In The Fuel Filter Lines Group {1256,1274}

Usage:

D4H (7PK, 2AC, 9DB, 8PB, 4NK, 9GJ, 3AC, 8ZF, 8PJ) Tractors Powered By 3304 Machine Engines

Description of Change: The fuel filter lines group has been changed to remove the steel tube between the fuel transfer pump and the fuel injection pump. A new hose assembly has been added in its place. The reason for this change is to eliminate high fuel transfer pump pressure caused by injection pump spill pulses. This high pressure is usually seen at high idle conditions and could cause fuel transfer pump damage. The new rubber hose reduces the pressure range to 600 to 700 kPa (87 to 101 psi). This is a higher transfer pump pressure than other 3304 applications, but is an acceptable range on D4H Tractors.

Adaptable To: The new 103-1047 Hose Assembly replaces the former 6I-1668 Tube Assembly in the 6I-1382 Fuel Filter Lines Group, and is adaptable to all D4H Tractors, back to first production. See the illustration and installation instructions.

Illustration for installation of the new 103-1047 Hose Assembly.

1. Install the 3J-1907 Seal (1) and 030-7947 Elbow (2), and the 103-1047 Hose Assembly (3) from the fuel injection pump (12) to the fuel transfer pump (11).

2. Use the 3J-1907 Seal (4) and 030-7947 Elbow (5) on the fuel transfer pump (11) side also.

3. Install the 9M-8406 Clip (6) at the position shown.

* The 9M-8406 Clip, 2B-0941 Spacer, 9M-1974 Washer, and 1A-9579 Bolt (7) (8) (9) (10), are shown in a blow-up view.
