Items 50 and 56 are incorrect (reversed) in the chart found on Page 9. The following chart has been corrected.
--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------
Description of Change: A new three-point hitch design is used. The new three-point hitch offers the following improvements.
- * The rockshaft is made from a stronger material and has finer splines for a larger root diameter.
- * The lift arms are heavier and made of a stronger material.
- * Cylinder lift and top pivot pins are a larger diameter, and grease zerks and cross drilling were removed to increase strength.
- * The lift links have larger diameter rods and larger diameter pins at the top and the bottom.
- * The lift links also have a stronger fork at the bottom and a ball swivel at the top.
- * The lift cylinders have a grease zerk in the upper pivot bushing area.
- * The lift arms are heavier and made of a stronger material.
Adaptable To: The new three-point hitch is effective with Challenger 35 (8DN1), Challenger 45 (1DR720), and Challenger 55 (7DM1) Agricultural Tractors. The new three-point hitch is adaptable to all earlier machines as a complete group. Because the rockshaft splines and most of the pin diameters have changed, a partial field installation of individual components is not possible.
