Improvements have been made to the software for the Electronic Programmable Transmission Control II -(EPTC II). The improved software will eliminate two problems.
The first problem occurred in the program that collects data on the number of shifts made. If power was turned off while the count was being updated, incorrect data was stored. As the data was read by an Electronic Control Analyzer Programmer (ECAP), "ERROR" would be indicated.
The second problem occurred on earlier controls where only 632,000 lockup clutch engagements could be counted and stored. The improved software can count and store 12 million lockup clutch engagements.
The chart lists software improvements on the EPTC II.
